Mantar Hill is quite famous in the world of tourism in Indonesia, especially after its beauty is exposed because the photos circulated in social media. Especially after being used as a place for shooting movies and international paragliding competition some time ago. To reach the hill of mantar is not easy, because it must take a road that has not been good. Mantar village is located at an altitude of 630 meters above sea level. The road is quite uphill and only off-road cars that can conquer this kind of terrain.

Mantar Village is an area belonging to Poto Tano Sub-district, West Sumbawa Regency which is a new district of development of Sumbawa regency. Arriving at the village of Mantar, cool air typical of the highlands greet us. Not to mention the row of stilt houses on the left and right of the road adds to the interior and traditional atmosphere of this village. In the northern part of this village, you can see the gardens of citizens and farm animals like horses hanging around. The vast expanse made us wonder when we saw the exotic scene. Yes, the port of Poto Tano is seen there plus the sturdy Mount Rinjani Peak which stands on the island of Lombok. From this hilltop I also saw the village of Senayan, Tapir Village, and Seteluk Village underneath. Not to mention the small islands that exist around the Port of Poto Tano like Kenawa Island. As far as the eye sees what is presented is beauty. Indeed Bukit Mantar tourist village in "Earth Undru" Sumbawa West presents a fascinating combination of natural scenery and cold air typical of the mountains. Looking west we can see the island clusters and the beautiful natural scenery with the background of the island of Lombok and the Alas Strait. Another charm that can be enjoyed from the top of the Mantar ridge is the Long Island that stretches as if dividing the waters of the Alas Strait.

From the ridge we can also see the famous Rinjani Mountain in the world because of its beauty and uniqueness. From the Mantar hill top we can also enjoy the cluster of small islands known as "Gili Balu" (eight small islands). The uninhabited is Kenawa Island, Mendaki Island, Paserang Island, Belang Island, Snake Island, Nako Island and Kalong Island. Kenawa Island with an area of 3.80 hectares and 1.73 kilometer long beach is now well known to domestic and foreign tourists. Kenawa Island is just 1.63 kilometers from the mainland of Sumbawa Island. The island is decorated by the savannas that have been equipped with facilities pennginapan and tourist port.Karena Sumbawa District Government has set Mantar Village into a "cultural village" which became a tourist magnet in "Earth Undru" (another name of West Sumbawa regency) .Kendati reside in isolated areas , Mantar is one of the well-known villages at the national level, because this village was once the location of shooting the movie "Serdadu Kumbang" claimed by famous director Ari Sihasale which tells about the life of three boys who live in a state of deprivation. The community leader who is also the Chairman of Mantar M Nasir B Village said that Mantar Village residents are descendants of the Portuguese whose ship was stranded and damaged in coastal waters under Mantra Hill in 1814 which is now entering Tuananga Village, Poto Tano Sub-district. The passengers of the ship were forced to settle in the Village of Kuang Buser and Tuananga. Then they climbed the hillside and finally settled on the pavilion hill 630 meters above sea level which is now the village of Mantar.
To reach the village in Mantar hills it took quite a heavy field. The steep and winding roads add to the difficulty of reaching the hilltop village. The road to Mantar Village can only be driven by four wheel drive or 4 wheel drive (4WD) or 4X4. Mantar Village residents rely solely on it. At an altitude of 630 meters above sea level Mantar Village has now built a paragliding platform and a number of other supporting facilities using budgets sourced from and CSR (CSR) of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT). Well friend of the traveler, if you are interested please come to the island of Sumbawa, precisely in Mantar Hill Regency Sumbawa Barat.
